I had plenty of opportunities to practice my English in a variety of situations, such as discussion classes, doing seminar presentations or working in a team on a group project. There was of course a lot of chatting in my host family aswell ;-) Therefore, my overall language experience could have hardly been any better!

The cost of living is higher in Australia than in Texas. Travel expenses to see Australia and NZ were obviously more than i would spend in a given semester traveling to and from cities in Texas

at first I was having difficulties with the local language, since australian speak pretty fast and use a lot of jargon and slang so I need extra work to adapt with them, watching local TV show and interact with local people more, and after 6 month I've been here I'm starting to cope with that

My native language is American-English. It was enriching to hear the English language manipulated with the Australian accent and sometimes I really found it difficult to understand. I spoke to many international students while studying and improved my interpersonal communication skills.
