“Good university”
Lea V
Australia, Graduate
Marketing and Sales Management, 2019
Overall
I graduated with a Master of Commerce at The University of Sydney. I previously came to USYD as an exchange student and decided to stay for my postgraduate studies. There is a lot of freedom when it comes to choosing your classes or the projects you want to work on compared to university in France. I also like university here better as it is more challenging. Most of my classmate were international students (very few native Australians) so I improved my cross-cultural communications skills as well.

Overall
The University of Sydney has a beautiful campus. It is ranked among the top in the world. There is a vibrant student community. Students are healthy, active and open to trying new things. The professors are generally good with some exemptions. There is a tutoring system which greatly helps students and the tutors are mostly excellent.

“the worst lecturer ever absolutely disgusting”

Overall
why are my reviews not posted?????????????
I am not sure how the recruitment and hiring process is for the teaching staff in the nursing school, but from my experience and having previously studied here in the arts faculty, the nursing school is terrible like way below standard.
I am doing my first year graduate entry master units (5081, 5042, 5082, 5002) and I can definitely say the teaching standard and delivery is the worst I have ever encountered. Not only are they behind and lazy with online lectures (by just posting old ones), just slamming just with readings and not guiding properly with what information is needed to know and remember for exams.
I only chose here because they claimed to be the best, but I beg to differ and based on reviews and research, which I should of done as it states very differently.
Aside the fact there are many lecturers, tutors and labs staff who are literally just reading of the screen what they wrote or copied and paste more like it, the fact is that is not teaching and educating in a proper manner. Now what is worse is what they write is completely off or contradictory of what they are saying, making things more confused. This is apparent for the lecturer Ron Castelino where he dose not know how to concisely and effectively explain theories or medication/drugs because the topics just go in circles and you have to literally decipher them like a code because its presented in such a shamble and mess you need to pick out what he is saying as nothing is making sense. It is like he is trying to trick you and ultimately fail you. Nevertheless, in the event when things do make sense (which is rare and never because I have to rely just on the slides as the audio is a fail always), he then brings in information that he then says don't need to know just throwing you of mentally and emotionally as if he is trying to mess with your psyche and that not helpful when have other subjects that are also equally hard and confusing and juggling that other thing s in life. He needs to understand the KISS (keep is simple stupid) analogy when trying to express his information because it is done extremely poorly at the moment. I wish I am able to attach screen shots and video small clips to show you as evidence what I mean, but am more than happy to if you want me to as there is a lot in regards to him and some other lecturers who are doing a bad job also. It is also very difficult to understand what he is saying as he mumbled a lot and has an accent making it difficult to know what he he actually saying. Anther example is when he would begin talking about a topi, like drug medications for diabetes he would state what it is then talk about all these other irrelevant information before coming back to it and by then (as i hand write notes) it makes this so confusing and difficult to edit, as if he is purposely doing this to make it hard and just mess with you. He dose know that as a health profession the compilation of stress and anxiety that affect the mental state of students can drive then crazy and make then depress or suicidal, so he really needs to learn to lecture properly or get fired asap! He may like talking down to his patients who he might treat, but he should not talk down to students.
