Housing was arranged by GIA Gestion, a real estate agency which helped us to find a place to stay in. I paid about 350 Euros per month for a single room in an apartment with other 3 exchange students.

It´s really well organised, so you don´t have to worry about nothing. The cost is not expensive at all and it´s near to University.

Private accomodation offers the freedom and flexibility that university accomodations would not. Futhermore, private rental in Montreal is very inexpesive compared to the UK.

I would have preferred to have found accommodation on my own as the school provides assistance to help exchange students find housing together. This is MUCH cheaper, and also guarantees you will live with other students.

Housing I received was provided by GIA-Gestion. It is a company recommended by HEC Montreal, however, it is overpriced and usually offers mediocre housing. My housing was very expensive, and not only was I told I'd be living with my male landlord (I am a female undergraduate), living with one person turned into living with 3 as sometimes his girlfriend, his girlfriend's son and his own son would stay over too. I paid a lot for something bad and got something worse.
