Academic
Course recommendations
Profs I can recommend: Szentes, Suranyi, Kacsirek, Palankai. Avoid Hajna Istvanffy and her course (FIN 559) at all cost.

My academic experiences
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with international students
Interaction with local students
Personal comments
More international teachers are needed, as well as young Hungarians who have lived and studied abroad. Courseloads need to be tougher in most cases and the administration needs to change their mentality regarding their role, the students, and what the ISC is for.

The university was very helpful and I didn't face any major problems during my stay. Also, the courses were interesting and the teachers spoke well enough english so there were no problems at all.

I would recommend Budapest for everyone as it is a lovely city that has changed very much since the end of the communist era. It is also still very cheap, although getting more expensive all the time. If possible get there before the fall semester starts and enjoy the summer in the outside bars and thermal baths!

Housing

Why?
Because I need space just for me. And it has to be silent what it is definitely not in the dormitory.

Personal comments
The dormitory is really cheap (about 30 euros/month) and near the university. Hungary is renovating its dormitories through PPP. My flat was in the same street as the dormitory. So it was not loud and near to the university.
