finland is a very beautiful country and the people are very nice, but it gets some time to get in touch with them, you need to be patient. travelling is expensive but there are special discounts for students. it is something to do because finland is different from anything else, specially from the european southern countries. one of the things i liked the most was SAUNA, it is something one has to experience at least once in a lifetime

even if everybody speaks english, i think it would've been best to be able to speak a little bit of finnish (or swedish) before going.

Erasmus is always great,, so do not be afraid about geography. You will have so much great time you will forget about the cold weather, rather, you will enjoy it.

Try it! The experience about Finland is a little bit more uncommon than in other countries (at least in my opinion).

Travel as much as you can, but don´t go only to Rovaniemi if you want to visit Lapland. Go further north! Ask your tutor or the tutor of another exchange student if your one is not willing to help you, but most of them can give you very good advices.

My final comment is: travel as much as you can. This kind of things happen just once in a lifetime so enjoy. dont worry so much about studies (you can do that in your home country) but meet people, experience a different culture and you will notice a huge inner growth.
